Explore mindful practices for contemplating the night sky
Description:

For many people, stargazing is associated with maps, science facts and telescopes. These can make the stars seem cold, distant and maybe even irrelevant. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Stargazing and wondering in awe at the night sky is something that all humans have done since the dawn of time.

In this online talk, Mark Westmoquette describes his journey from completing a PhD in Astrophysics toteaching mindfulness and Zen. He will introduce the concept of mindful stargazing and how looking up at the night sky with inquisitiveness holds enormous benefits to our wellbeing. Together we will explore a few simple practices for contemplating our place in the universe and our relationship to it. It’s Mark's hope that by the end you will feel more at home as a citizen of this universe.
