Learn the way to work with anxiety and loneliness to transform it into ease and joy
Description:

Koshin Paley Ellison and Chodo Robert Campbell are the Co-founders and guiding teachers at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care.

In this one-day retreat based on Koshin's book Untangled, learn the way to expansive ease and joy through the Eightfold Path, one of Buddhism’s foundational teachings. Let these teachings introduce you to contemplative practices that can rejuvenate and enliven your life. It is an ancient cure that’s up to the challenge of addressing the dysfunction and isolation of our times.

Koshin and Chodo will create a day for you to experience:

  • Finding the Right Posture for Body and Mind: “Open, upright, grounded and soft”. Koshin’s guidance for finding more spaciousness and ease at any point of your day.

  • Noticing what binds us & brings anxiety: The “tangles” that narrow our perspectives, impact our relationships, and feed our fears.

  • The Loneliness Epidemic: Loneliness adversely impacts our physical and mental health, as recent studies reveal. Almost seven million UK adults – more than 1 in 8 of us – report having no close friends, many of us are desperately lacking connection and community.

Acknowledging the suffering isolation causes - this day will offer
teachings and practices for developing meaningful relationships.

  • A simple Zen practice: You leave this day-long retreat with a range of contemplative practices to integrate into your daily life.

Zen teacher, non-profit co-founder, and grief counselor Chodo Robert Campbell is a recognized leader for those suffering with the complexities of death & dying, aging, and sobriety.

With his husband, Koshin Paley Ellison, he co-founded the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, an educational non-profit dedicated to integrating contemplative approaches to care and contemporary medicine.

Join us for this extraordinary day and rare opportunity to spend the day with Koshin and Chodo
