A Writing to Awaken Workshop
Description:

Periods of change and uncertainty offer a unique opportunity for accelerated personal growth as well as spiritual transformation.

In this inspiring program, veteran memoirist and teacher Mark Matousek will guide you through a series of powerful writing exercises – drawn from time-honored philosophical principles – designed to prompt self-awareness, dissolve harmful stories, foster resilience, and illuminate psychological shadows that may prevent you from flourishing.

Known for his insightful questions, Mark is expert at creating an atmosphere of gentle support and safety that accelerates the self-inquiry process. The workshop will include optional breakout groups, suggested readings, and plenty of time for conversation, in addition to the writing practices. You do not need to be a writer to benefit from this workshop. Mark’s Writing to Awaken method emphasizes truth-telling and curiosity (more than perfect prose), and using writing as a tool for self-realization.

In this workshop, you will learn to:

Recognize your wounds as allies and teachers

Free yourself of obsolete narratives and a false self-image

Strengthen your ‘witness awareness’ and practice objectivity

Discover the creative potential of loss

Appreciate paradox and personal contradictions

Increase well-being through radical truth-telling

Let Mark be your guide on this daylong journey to psychological wellness and wisdom. His Writing to Awaken workshops and courses have helped thousands of people around the world to reach their creative and spiritual goals. As he puts it, “When you tell the truth, your story changes. When your story changes, your life is transformed.”
