The Story of Your Life: Making Sense of the Past and Present

The Story of Your Life: Making Sense of the Past and Present
Every life is a creative act, an improvisation from start to finish. We create meaning from our life experiences and then imbue them with value, shape, and purpose. The significance you give to what happens to you defines the story of your life.
In this daylong writing workshop, you’ll focus on identifying and exploring your core narratives, the stories that lie hidden behind your life situation. Situation and story are different, after all; the former pointing to the outer circumstances of your existence, the latter to what these experiences mean to you — the sense you make of what you’ve been given. Whether you’re writing a memoir or using self-inquiry as a path of insight, this workshop can be of great benefit to you.
As an award-winning memoir writer and author of Writing to Awaken: A Journey of Truth, Transformation, and Self-Discovery, Mark brings decades of experience to the topic of storytelling and self-inquiry. Known for his insightful questions, he creates an atmosphere of mutual support, confidentiality, and enjoyment to his transformational work with students.
