Pamplona • Montserrat • Barcelona - An Exclusive Journey to Spain with Caroline Myss

In recent years, I have become devoted to teaching spiritual direction and contemporary mystical spirituality.  It is my deep belief as a teacher, a medical intuitive, and a mystic that most people have been searching for a way to embrace the power of their soul for most of their life.

Perhaps you have not been conscious of that search, but that is because you are not familiar with the subtle tactics of the way the soul maneuvers in your psyche, your heart and even in your physical biology.  For all the many ways we can describe this rapidly changing time in which we are living, I see this time as the era in which the consciousness of the soul is emerging as the core power of the human being.

A new understanding of the soul is essential, one that is based upon the truth that the soul is our mystical consciousness, not an object of religion.

I am passionate about teaching mystical consciousness and introducing people to the power of their soul.  To accommodate this workshop theme, CMED and Alternatives UK have created a workshop experience in Spain that begins in Pamplona, a town on the famous Camino de Santiago, the long walk across Spain (or France or Portugal) to the Church of Saint James the Apostle in Santiago de Compostela.

We chose that town as the start of our workshop because of a legend associated with a Pilgrim. According to the legend, a Pilgrim, exhausted and thirsty from traveling the Camino, met a stranger, also traveling on the road. This stranger happened to be the Devil in disguise. The Devil offered to show the Pilgrim a hidden source of water but only on the condition that he renounce God, the Virgin Mary and Saint James. The Pilgrim refused even though it meant dying of thirst. At that moment, Saint James, also disguised as a Pilgrim, appeared and led him to that hidden fountain and using a scallop shell, he offered him water to drink.

Eventually pilgrims walking the Camino began to wear scallop shells around their necks, indicating that they were officially on a pilgrimage.  For centuries, people were honor bound to offer food and shelter to people wearing the pilgrim’s shell out of respect for the holy journey, as hotels did not exist along the roads to Santiago de Compostela. People have walked these pilgrimages for over 1,000 years.  And those caught wearing the shell under false pretenses as a way of entering homes to steal were put to death.

The Pilgrim’s shell is still the official icon of the holy journey.  And so, we begin our holy journey at the place where the Pilgrim’s shell came into being.

The well-known monastery of Montserrat is the location for the main part of my workshop. It is a privilege to do a workshop in this monastery for so many reasons, not the least of which is that Montserrat is home to a revered Black Madonna, the patron saint of Catalonia. Montserrat is an active monastery and as such, the resident monks and priests observe a schedule of prayer that is signaled by the ringing of the bells from the bell tower, even through the night.

Because we are sharing the monastery atmosphere, I have written a prayer book for participants so that should the bells awaken you, you have the option of joining in the monastic practice of praying during specific times of the day and night.

Mysticism is about the experience of the nature of the Divine.  My approach to this workshop is that participants enter into the experience of their soul.  The lecture topics covered during our journey together will include:

  • The nature of your soul
  • How your soul communicates
  • Soul appetites
  • Spiritual versus psychological crises
  • Contemporary mystical experiences
  • Mystical laws
  • The power of grace and prayer
  • Applying Mystical laws to health/happiness and sanity
  • Developing mystical consciousness

I believe mystical consciousness is our most refined intelligence and that we exist in partnership with the Sacred and with all of creation. I hope you will join me on this inner and outer journey to Spain.

Due to the sacred theme of this workshop and my choice of venue, enrollment will be limited to a moderate-sized group.

Ticketing for this event is through the, not Alternatives, therefore we are unable to apply Membership or other discounts in this case.

About the speaker, Caroline Myss

Caroline established her own educational institute in 2003, CMED (Caroline Myss Education), which offers a diverse array of programs devoted to personal development and draws students from all over the world. In addition to hosting a weekly radio show on the Hay House network, Caroline maintains a rigorous international workshop and lecture schedule.

After completing her Master’s degree, Caroline co-founded Stillpoint Publishing and headed the editorial department, producing an average of ten books a year in the field of human consciousness and holistic health. Simultaneously Caroline refined her skills as a medical intuitive, with the assistance of C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., a Harvard-trained neurosurgeon.

Caroline developed the field of Energy Anatomy, a science that correlates specific emotional/psychological/physical/spiritual stress patterns with diseases. Her research proved so accurate that it became the subject matter of a book co-written by Caroline and Norm: The Creation of Health.

In 1996, Caroline released Anatomy of the Spirit, a New York Times bestseller that has been published in 28 languages and has sold over 1.5 million copies. Through the investigation of the underlying reasons why people sabotage their healing processes, Caroline identified a syndrome she calls “woundology,” characterized by a person’s reliance on the power of illness for manipulation of his or her world, as opposed to attaining an independent, empowered state of health. As with her other seminal research, this syndrome is now a recognized psychological condition. Her third book, Why People Don't Heal And How They Can, became another New York Times bestseller.

Caroline then pursued her interest in the language of symbols, myths, and archetypes, conducting research that enabled her to profile an individual’s “Sacred Contract,” a complex of 12 archetypal patterns that reflect in mythic language the agreements the soul made prior to birth. Based on this work, Caroline released Sacred Contracts, which became her third New York Times bestseller. It is published in 18 languages and posts sales of well over 1.6 million copies. In 2003, Oprah Winfrey gave Caroline her own television program with the OXYGEN network in New York City, which ran successfully for one year.

Caroline followed with two more New York Times bestsellers, Invisible Acts of Power in 2004 and Entering the Castle in 2007. Caroline’s latest book, Defy Gravity, was released in October 2009, a book exploring the mystical phenomenon of healing that transcends reason.

In addition to her written work, Caroline has produced more than eighty audio/visual products on subjects that include healing, spirituality, personal development, and the study of archetypes.
