Join psychologist and author Steve Taylor for a music-filled talk which dives into Beatles’ history, exploring how the Fab Four harnessed their creativity to become the world’s most influential band. Steve will share the psychological factors traits that made the Beatles so prolific and progressive, and show how their greatest songs were written with spontaneous unconscious inspiration. Steve will share lessons from the band’s creativity and explain how meditation caused an explosion of creativity in the Beatles - but also led to their breakup.

As a musician himself, Steve will also sing and play some Beatles songs, to which everyone will be welcome to join in!

About the speaker, Steve Taylor

Steve Taylor PhD is the author of 15 books on psychology and spirituality, and is a senior researcher and lecturer in psychology at Leeds Beckett University. He is a past chair of the Transpersonal Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society and before he was an academic, Steve was a professional musician. His books include DisConnected, Extraordinary Awakenings, The Clear Light, and The Leap. His new book Across The Universe: The Magic and Mystery of the Beatles’ Creativity publishes in September 2026 with Scribe.
